Level II-2o13 > Empires against Time
EMPIRES AGAINST TIME
A long time Project, a challenge to my own Level in Photography. Born to be the representation of Shed Shachar's new signature, this project gathers all my aims and goals, as a wanna be professional photographer. On my road to fulfill my dream, I'm very aware I will still face many obstacles, but, for now, here only the best of my best will be submitted. All the texts from the description of each work belong to me, and I tried to present all the concepts from a new perspective. PART I - Rebuilding the Past This first part is a metaphor. On one hand we have Alcazaba ruins, [link] , one of the most important military structures ever build in Almeria. The fortress, which was meant to be back in 995 only a defensive bridge, ended by time to be one of the most important economic exchange locations for this part of Andalusia, Spain. In our days is a must visit touristic point on the map of every traveler. Alcazaba de Almeria as is more commonly knew, resisted to the time test even better than many experts would have expected. With only very few improvements, the impressive fortress still have the entire wall crossing the huge valley from left to right cutting this valley of the mountain in two and it still has all the towers intact. Is a masterpiece proving the mastery of the antique Arabic knowledges about fortifications. And a very loved place, today, reminding always that some Empires were build to last. On the other hand we have a poem of mine that is suppose to work like a song accompanying the visit into the very inner of Alcazaba de Almeria. I have captured unique places, some of them not known to the common public trying to keep a close link between these places and all the parts from my poem in a very intimate way. I´m a captive traveler singing about once upon a time lost love, about the power of time and about the Empire of Harmony. As all the stones of a fortress are linked to each other in an endless bound, I rebuild out of ruins their lost glory. Because the Past is what makes the History (any history) to worth and to last. Forever, Ever and After, as I use to say... I hope you will enjoy! |
