"One single step saw you give your heart to the Earth, down below..." (Stream of Passion)
..."down below...the surface"...
A very very old work of mine, taken back then with a non professional pocket camera Fuji FinePix Z30. It was almost of the beginning of my road as photographer, when the lens were a distant Mecca and the aesthetic eye was covered with a very annoying cataract. Still, from that period, I think this work remains my masterpiece. Not only because is epic, but also because the poor camera did a wonderful job and because I felt a very deep impression of drowning when I took it (the Feeling in Photography was important for me since that day). On my former account was titled, because of this mainly, "Immerse your soul in love" and dedicated to the one who made me took it, a young, yet very talented photographer, *GothicNarcissus, who inspired me a lot along the way. The dedication will never change, only that, this time, this work is ending a long period of researching. Is the last work I submit this year and, along with it, I end here the first level of my photography: the experiment. I think I have played long enough with the lens and with the shades of B&W to pass to the next level and to say something more than until now. I think I have learned my basic notes and I have to make my own first song, with my own mark without being influenced by any other artist. Is just another long and very difficult level, I know, there is still a lot more to be learned, but I'm glad I will finally make this step. So, yeah, is holidays time and everybody is probably trying to enjoy them and to prepare for the new year. And, usually, when a new year is coming, we have to leave something behind in order to move on. Is natural, but, me, I don't want to forget my roots. I think they are the main reason why we change or improve. So, here I go, facing the new year, with one of my very first works, as a tribute to the day somebody made me see that lens should feel and the beauty must be immortalized.
So, that's one of the reasons why I renamed this work symbolically "Be a world to the Earth" and decided to re-submit it today, as a last thank you...
Because we're not just a moment in time and because time cannot immerse the world, any world... even if, we forget to remember sometimes...
Happy Holidays to you all, Happy New Year, Happy New projects, Happy New Worlds! And...why not?...Happy Earthly Feelings! Kindly featured by: on [link] Thank you my dear! on [link] Thank you very much! on [link] Thank you very much!
On laptops, non-calibrated monitors and on Chrome browsers this work may look more brighter than the original.
This picture has a deep authenticity. The natural colours, the surface of the water as a carpet to get to the hills, the hedge of reeds as a curtain between the ultimate point where the observer stands and the horizon, the clouds suspended creating areas of light and shadow, the inexistence of human beings in the first plan and the whole breathing life... As you sad, is epic, because it shows life without rehearsals. What more could we do except to love life through all this... I also had a Fuji once; the colours were excellent (natural as in your picture), the problem was the low definition.
Thank you very much! Yep, low definition + overexposure problems and it was so small that each shake of the hands was almost instantly visible on the photo. But it did always an acceptable job giving its limited capacities. Helped me a lot to find some of my weak points when shooting.
